Kazuri Bead Necklace

Kazuri, the Swahili word for 'small and beautiful' produces a wide range of hand made, hand painted ceramic jewelry that shines with a kaleidoscope of African colors and Kenyan art that reflects a culture and appeal to a worldwide fashion market. Kazuri's beautifully finished products are made to an international standard and are sold worldwide.  I have purchased the beads I used in this necklace from Antelope Beads in Boulder, CO.
The beaded chain is my variation of Cindy Holsclaw's pattern "Diamond O" free on Cindy's site Bead Origami. My variation uses the new "O" beads, #11 Seed Beads (two colors) and #8 Seed Beads.

Peyote Patriotic Flag Bracelet

A special request from one of my clients had me pulling out one of my all time favorite patterns. It has been a long time since I have made the peyote waving flag bracelet and I had forgotten how much fun it is to weave. The bracelet  comes together quickly with size 11 seed beads and making those flags wave is always a treat.  Thanks to my beading buddy, Barb Booker, for sharing this pattern with me several years ago.

Kumihimo Braided Necklace with Beads

Kumihimo is the ancient Japanese art of braiding. In fact, kumihimo means "coming together of threads" in Japanese.

Using the book NECKLACES BRAIDED ON THE KUMIHIMO DISK by Karen DeSousa and taking a class at Beads in Tampa I was able to complete my first necklace.

The beads in this example are a mix of 3 mm pearls, chips, #5 triangles, #6 seed beads, 4 mm cubes, magatama drops, 3.4 mm drops and 6 mm crystal rondelles

Rainbow Wave-3 Drop Peyote

All beads used in this bracelet are Delica Duracoat Galvanized #11 seed beads in the following hues:  Light Pewter, Pink Blush, Hot Pink, Mint Green, and Dark Sea Foam. The bracelet is finished off with a 20mm Tube Clasp with Bar in silver.

I've discovered these new tube clasps with bar to finish off this peyote stitch bracelet. I found the clasps on Etsy at the shop "mindmyownbeadsness".  These clasps finish off the peyote bracelets in a much smoother way, then clasps I've used in the past.
